International Journal of Occupational Safety and Health (IJOSH) is an international peer-reviewed open-access journal covering occupational health, safety, and workers' health including homemakers and students.
It provides occupational health physicians, ergonomists, nurses, occupational hygiene, and health and safety professionals with a dependable single source of proficiently written legal, practical, and management occupational health information.
IJOSH welcomes original research submissions that relate to the full range of chemical, physical, ergonomic, biological, and psychosocial hazards in the workplace and to environmental contaminants and their health effects and the safety standards and interventions. Research aimed at improving the evidence-based practice of occupational medicine and research on the development and application of novel methods, including biological and statistical techniques is also of interest. In addition, we publish meta-analysis, systematic reviews, review articles, editorials, commentaries, case studies and letters to the editor, which provide a forum for debate.
Publication process
All manuscripts submitted to IJOSH are initially reviewed by the assistant editors to ensure that they adhere to the journal's submission guidelines. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines are returned to the authors.
All submissions submitted to IJOSH undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Peer reviewers are experts chosen by editors to provide a written assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of written research, with the aim of improving the article and modifying it in the most appropriate and highest mode for the journal. Initial submissions are sent to two reviewers, but if there is a disagreement between their assessments of whether a submission should be considered for publication, a third reviewer is contacted.
Usually, the initial screening of the submissions takes place within a week, the first round of peer review takes 30-45 days, and an additional 15-30 days are needed if the paper needs to be revised by the authors before it is sent out for the second round of review. Thus, it takes, on average, 90-120 days from the initial submission to the decision to publish the paper. Furthermore, the copyediting process could take between two and three weeks. However, occasionally the process may take a little longer than anticipated due to the late submission of the reviewers' comments and late response from the authors.
Submissions not fulfilling the Author's Guidelines will be declined immediately without further clarification.
Indexing
IJOSH is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), EBSCO, EMBASE (Excerpta Medica dataBASE), SCI Journal, SCImago, and Scopus.
Similarly, contents published in IJOSH are available on the listing indexes like Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE), CORE (core.ac.uk), Crossref, European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences (ERIH PLUS), Exaly, Google Scholar, Hinari, Index Copernicus International Journals Master List, JournalTOCs, Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals (NSD), Open Access Library (OALib), ResearchGate, Scientific Literatures (SciLit), SafetyLit, WorldCat, etc.
